Baked Crab Meat

Ingredients:

  • Two (2) tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • One (1) tablespoon margarine
  • One (1) pound crab meat with cartilage removed
  • One (1) teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Two (2) tablespoon Parmesan Cheese
  • One fourth (1/4) cup finely chopped onion
  • Four (4) egg whites, beaten
  • Vegetable oil

Preparation:

  1. Take a 9x9 inch oven-friendly casserole dish and spray it with vegetable oil. Preheat the oven to 350 F
  2. Melt the margarine in a small pan. Sauté the onions for 2 to 3 minutes.
  3. Put together the onion, mustard, Worcestershire sauce and crab meat in a separate bowl.
  4. Fold in gently the beaten egg whites. Pour the resulting mixture into the casserole disk and sprinkle generously with cheese.
  5. Bake for 25 minutes. You’ll know when it’s cooked when it is puffed up and has a light brown color. Take it out from the oven and cut into squares.
  6. Serve while hot.

This dish serves around six people. The saltiness of this meal would go well with something with a milder, less salty taste. Try serving it with lightly seasoned fish.
