Crab Rice

 

Ingredients: 

  

  • Two (2) chopped green onions  
  • Four (4) tablespoons dry sherry  
  • Three (3) tablespoons light soy sauce  
  • Three (3) blue crabs  
  • One (1) stephen ceideburg  
  • Three (3) tablespoon light soy sauce  
  • Four hundred (400) grams glutinous rice  
  • One (1) tablespoon oil  
  • One (1) tablespoon soy sauce  
  • One (1) teaspoon sugar  
  • One (1) piece fresh grated ginger.  

 

Preparation:

 

  1. Chop two green onions. Grate some fresh ginger.  
  2. Mix the two ingredients with the dry sherry and the light soy  
  3. Open two crabs by breaking the crab shell with a hammer and chop them into several pieces.  Break the shell of the crab but do not chop its meat.  
  4. Pour the mixture over the crabs and marinate for an hour.  
  5. Wash and cook the rice. Pour over 1.5 liters of water and boil for five minutes. Drain.  
  6. Pack the chopped crab pieces at the bottom of a heat proof dish. Pour in the rice and push it down. Press down the whole crab on top of the rice.  
  7. Add the soy sauce, oil, salt and sugar into the marinade and pour over the rice.  
  8. Place the dish inside the steamer over boiling water and steam for 40 minutes.  
  9. Take out the dish and serve.    

This meal is fun as people who will eat this will dig in to find the crab pieces. It is very delicious and is a whole meal in itself.
